About this artwork
In this vertical piece, I wanted to capture the raw, atmospheric power of Central Switzerland in transition. I used thick, expressive impasto strokes to turn the sky into a churning sea of charcoal, slate, and steel blue.
I focused on that singular fracture of light piercing through the heavy clouds, casting a luminous, ghostly glow over the misty horizon of Lake Zug. By contrasting the turbulent, textured sky with the dark, rugged shoreline, I aimed… to create a powerful sense of movement and drama.
"Storm on Lake Zug" is my study of nature’s volatility—a balance between the weight of a gathering gale and the quiet beauty of a silver lining. My goal was to bring the moody, tactile energy of the Swiss elements directly into your space.
Kiki Spring, born in former Czechoslovakia and now based in Switzerland, works exclusively with large-scale acrylic abstract paintings rooted in her diverse academic background in literature, fine arts, and graphic design. Her technique is defined by expressive layering, sculptural texture, luminous golden hues, and an intuitive blend of palette-knife and spray applications, creating a harmonious tension between softness and bold movement. Through her art, she masterfully conveys the quiet power, emotional depth, and transformative resilience of modern femininity, inviting viewers to experience both strength and serenity in radiant, atmospheric spaces.
