About this artwork
In this oil painting, I wanted to capture a sweet and surreal moment through a figurative and naive approach. The creature, wrapped in the winter cold, with its curious encounter with the large tuba, conveys a sense of childlike wonder and delicacy. I imagine this scene bringing an atmosphere of innocence and poetry to your rooms, warming your heart with its little secret.
Kiko Perotti primarily uses oil painting, with a refined background in Indian miniatures and European art, even founding an art school in Moscow. His technique draws inspiration from Flemish and Renaissance classics, exploiting numerous layers and glazes for depth and light. He works on portraits and allegorical scenes in which nature, flowers, and animals assume human poses. His works evoke irony, delicacy, and a subtle reflection on existence, unsettling the viewer between lightheartedness and profound introspection.
