About this artwork
I wanted to speak of completeness through crookedness. Instead of pursuing symmetry or compositional perfection, this work visualizes what I call the “democracy of imperfection”—a space where organic forms, each flawed in their own way, are allowed to simply be.
The ink lines no longer divide, but connect. They become channels of communication, drawing different beings into coexistence. The white space on hanji is not emptiness, but a form of respect—a… breathing room that protects each form’s autonomy.
This work is born of “intentional accident,” that paradoxical space where planning meets intuition, mistake meets discovery. In that delicate tension, forms emerge freely. One may see butterflies here—or dragonflies, or abstractions, or melodies. That ambiguity is not a riddle to solve, but a gift of freedom. Each viewer brings their own meaning.
