About this artwork
I started this project without a plan, directly after my last vacation.
Two pieces of wood lay on the workbench and I began to paint a kind of horizon.
At some point I saw the "torn" heart in red before me and found the connection "heart/horizon/cave".
I built on that and began to tell several stories in my mind, all set in a cave river.
"Styx" from Greek mythology represents the boundary between life and death.
The name alone offers ample… space for fantastical, thoughtful, but also funny things.
