About this artwork
This piece is inspired by one of the legends common to most indigenous tribes of the Amazonian Basin. It represents how the earth was formed out of the darkness of the skies. This painting is part of an installation named “The Crucifixion Wall” and has been exhibited in several museums around the world.
The work is created in Poor's technique of powdered glass and natural pigments fused on steel plates. This unique technique was named by the late… Salvador Dali as Diaphanism - it conjures the ability to see the world as if through coloured gauze.
The frames were designed specifically for each painting and made by artisans in Oxford, England.
