About this artwork
Directed at himself and his trek through the cultural desert he was born into. He was named Kit after his great-grandfather on his mother side, Kit Walker. Kit Walker coincidentally the pseudonym for the comic book character, "The Phantom". The opportunity to align himself with a heroic figure in popular culture, whilst also expressing an aspect of his heritage, was too good an opportunity to let slip by.

Kit Chambers is an experienced artist based in Australia whose works have been exhibited nationally and in England. Inspired by Miguel de Cervantes' fictional character, Don Quixote, and his relationship with reality, Chambers likens his artistic practice to standing at an abyss that is frequented by veracious metaphors that threaten to abandon him the moment he looks down. His striking figurative compositions are created with oils and acrylics on canvas.
