About this artwork
In this piece, I channeled the raw chill of icy landscapes through textured acrylic, own blend of modeling paste, sand and one small stone. The abstract forms and cool tones evoke both stillness and subtle movement, inviting calm reflection. Bringing this energy to your space, it instills tranquility and depth, a quiet reminder of nature’s serene yet powerful presence.
This artwork can be hung up in any directions depending on space and desire.… All sides are painted in black.
« I paint simply because it makes me feel good, and gives me lot of fulfillment, it is my way to express myself and communicate with the world. »
Klara Gunnlaugsdottir is an experienced artist with international exposure. Her works are held in private collections worldwide. Her work is abstract in style and made using acrylic and mixed media techniques. With multiple layers of paint and different texture mediums, she builds depth and texture onto the canvas. She is primarily inspired by the natural world, especially the landscapes of her native Iceland. Like nature, her work depicts the opposition between light and dark, rough and smooth, thick and thin.
