This painting glorifies the extraordinary beauty of icebergs and also shows the part beneath the water surface. The artist likes to work with symbols and avoids spatial representation. In this painting, the oil paint with significant amounts of bright cobalt blue creates its own special depth effect and thus brings to mind this wonderful underwater world.

Klaus Feuchtinger is an established German painter with a strong love for France and Italy. His predominantly abstract works are characterized by a dense color palette. Feuchtinger creates his painterly messages with broad and sweeping brushstrokes. But he also likes to take "excursions" into a representational style of painting, which also comes close to surrealism. He sees his paintings as "inventions" whose exploration and interpretation he likes to leave to the viewers of his paintings.
