About this artwork
The variation of a Möbius loop made of Reinhardtsdorfer sandstone. The surface of the sculpture is finely honed and, in contrast to this, the edge is broken and rough, left with the blows from the pointed iron.
Each of my sculptures grows in a long process that can take years before I can no longer change anything that could lead to an improvement. Many influences come together, the material stone, the coincidental or the result of my actions.… At the end there is a sculpture that expresses something that I did not know before and, in the best case, looks as if it has always been there. A work of art that speaks for itself and expresses something that cannot be represented in any other way, it is magical. Words can try to describe it, but it will never be the same.

Klaus W Rieck is an experienced sculptor from Germany whose works have been featured in solo and group shows internationally. Interested in making art ever since he was a teenager, Rieck defined his current style exploring clear and minimalist themes in stone and marble. His work is characterized by organic shapes and smooth surfaces, all linked together by a signature white color palette.
