About this artwork
This sculpture is made of a field stone granite. The stone is highly polished and its shape with the waves is perhaps reminiscent of a shell.
Every sculpture grows in a long process that can take years before I can't change anything that could lead to improvement.
Many influences come together, the material stone, the coincidental or the result of doing.
At the end there is a sculpture that expresses something that I did not know before and,… in the best case, looks as if it has always been there.
A work of art that speaks for itself and expresses something that cannot be represented in any other way, e

« My sculptures want to show an invisible world; they may want to evoke associations, but stand for themselves, to be viewed and touched. They belong more to a metaphysical and cosmic world. »
Klaus W Rieck is an experienced sculptor from Germany whose works have been featured in solo and group shows internationally. Interested in making art ever since he was a teenager, Rieck defined his current style exploring clear and minimalist themes in stone and marble. His work is characterized by organic shapes and smooth surfaces, all linked together by a signature white color palette.
