About this artwork
This piece is painted after a piece of writing by Saadat Hassan Manto, a very famous writer from Pakistan who portrayed the real face of the society after Partition in 1947. The narrative spoke on behalf of a rape victim and she has painted a visual narrative based on those sensitive words.

Komal Shahid is an artist based in Pakistan whose works have been exhibited nationally and in South Korea. She describes her compositions as resonating with societal dogmas and stigmas.
