About this artwork
This doll is a part of my series called “Colors,” inspired by Pride Month and my first summer in Berlin.
I moved here in 2019, and Christopher Street Day really touched me — so open, so full of people just being themselves.
Each doll in the series is the same size and shape, but wears a different color from the Pride flag. “
“Violet” means spirit.
There’s something quiet and proud in this doll. A kind of silent strength.
I made this doll by hand… from polymer clay, with fabric clothes and wool hair.
It is not a toy, but a piece of art, with its own quiet story.
For more stability, a small stand might be helpful.

Koshmak
Germany
Koshmak, a Ukrainian-inspired dollmaker and sculptor, harnesses her psychology background. She melds realism and surrealism, using modeling plastics with fabric, wood, and ceramics to craft detailed, almost living figures imbued with fantastical elements. Her art spotlights human emotion, personal experiences, self-reflection, and the dialogue between our inner selves and the external world. She masterfully encapsulates themes of uncertainty, hope, fear, and joy, reflecting our adaptation to our rapidly evolving reality.
