About this artwork
This is a painting about an unexpected encounter with the divine. Since he was a child the artist has been fascinated by the bible stories on the appearance of heavenly beings to the mortals who eventually received divine messages. There are many works of the old masters depicting such stories. Albert Einstein once said: One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality.

Kris Ancog’s abstract paintings delve into themes of serenity and finding peace amidst chaos, with the central aim of emphasizing hope and positivity. His works are visual stories of human experiences and are an invitation for the viewer to meditate on color and form. Heavily inspired by natural light, Ancog paints in multiple transparent layers to create a translucent effect. He builds texture using a palette knife and uses oils, acrylics, and acrylic inks in his artistic process.
