About this artwork
This artwork is an abstract featuring hand folded origami cranes. Each crane was folded by the artist, and coated with layers of non-yellowing varnish. Origami paper used is acid free, and should resist yellowing over time. Other materials utilized for this piece include: satin cord, handcrafted ceramic tiles, genuine freshwater pearls, handmade mulberry paper, capiz shells, sola flowers, bamboo, glass tiles, and hand blown glass collected from…
local artisans-not sharp or dangerous. The pearls are individually wired to the canvas to prevent loss. This piece is lit from behind with commercial grade LED copper wire lights, and is intended to be viewed in daylight and also in darkness, creating essentially two pieces of art with very different looks. Edges are painted, no frame is necessary.
