About this artwork
Dragonfly in grass. This piece took approximately a month and a half to complete. Shapes were designed, die cut, and modified by hand. Rice paper was sculpted in relief to suggest grass. Intricate negative space was painted to block light when piece is lit from behind the canvas with commercial grade copper wire LED lights. Glass pieces (not sharp) were inserted through the canvas to create sparkle in darkness. Materials used: acrylic paint,…
capiz shell, cardboard, rice paper, bristol board, Swarovski crystals, and genuine freshwater pearls wired individually to the canvas. Paper has been double varnished, and is acid free to prevent yellowing over time. Edges or canvas are painted and varnished, no frame needed. Artwork includes a certificate of authenticity, along with care and installation suggestions.
