Kristel Jacobs is passionate about the past, the decorum, the etiquette, and the formal. She paints portraits as well as still life, landscapes, and cityscapes. The subjects of her paintings may vary a lot, there is uniformity in the way that she paints and the subtle, fairytale-like detailing of each painting.
'Marbulous' belongs to the Terra Magica series.
It was painted in the way of the Old Masters, on a wooden panel. The little chipmunk is… holding and examining a shiny little marble, with more marbles lying around on the table. This gives the painting a mysterious and surrealistic touch.
