About this artwork
The dominant neon pink was the primary focus in the creation of this artwork. To balance this expressive and expansive color, I contrasted it with cool grays and a neutralizing, warm titanium. The two large color fields are applied to fine paper, which has been folded. This creates a texture that generates depth and tension. After training as a graphic designer, Kristin Gezorreck regularly attended courses at the Berlin University of the Arts and continued to develop her artistic skills. The artist is particularly fascinated by the interplay and expressiveness of colors. Organic structures are also a recurring theme in her work. Her fascination with paper leads Kristin Gezorreck to frequently turn to this wonderful material: whether it is very fine, wafer-thin paper, which she folds and applies to the canvas, printed paper that she incorporates into the picture, or cardboard, which she uses to create a three-dimensional effect. In her abstract and expressive works, different materials come together, each with its own distinctive structure and thus evoking its own style. Through these "encounters," the artist creates tension and a varied dynamic in her work – the result is her unmistakable collage-like style.
