About this artwork
Wind turbines "destroy" the beautiful panorama! Everyone has probably thought this way before. But are wind turbines really destroying the landscape, or is it just a new kind of perspective, a new way of seeing? Changes require us to question our perspective. View 2.0 addresses this forced change. It depicts, in an abstract and expressive way, a typical North German landscape with cattle farming, which seems wonderfully romantic, almost kitsch. The… oversized wind turbines tower very prominently in the center of the square. In addition to their size, they dominate the image with their bright colors. They disrupt the viewer's enjoyment of the idyllic landscape, adapting only slightly to the organic structure of the trees, bushes, and plants in the meadow, forming a contrast to them. At first, they seem like foreign bodies. But upon closer inspection, they merge with the landscape.
After training as a graphic designer, Kristin Gezorreck regularly attended courses at the Berlin University of the Arts and continued to develop her artistic skills. The artist is particularly fascinated by the interplay and expressiveness of colors. Organic structures are also a recurring theme in her work. Her fascination with paper leads Kristin Gezorreck to frequently turn to this wonderful material: whether it is very fine, wafer-thin paper, which she folds and applies to the canvas, printed paper that she incorporates into the picture, or cardboard, which she uses to create a three-dimensional effect. In her abstract and expressive works, different materials come together, each with its own distinctive structure and thus evoking its own style. Through these "encounters," the artist creates tension and a varied dynamic in her work – the result is her unmistakable collage-like style.
