About this artwork
"Jellyfish" is a sculptural homage to the quiet poetry of the ocean's most ethereal creatures. I have long been fascinated by jellyfish—their subtle yet complex bodies that move with unforced grace, forming ever-changing shapes as their tentacles dance through the water. With this work, I sought to capture that fleeting elegance and translate it into the permanence of stone.
Carved from translucent pink steatite sourced from Brazil, the sculpture… invites movement into stillness. Its flowing, organic forms suggest motion suspended in time—like a jellyfish caught mid-drift, weightless and alive.
When placed before a window or light source, the material glows from within, casting gentle shades and revealing subtle variations in tone. In this interplay of light and form, Jellyfish becomes more than an object—it becomes an experience, shifting with its surroundings and inviting contemplation.
