About this artwork
This work has the particularity of using only one pigment color in addition to titanium white: Sepia. Worked in opacities and transparencies with a simple and recurring line pattern, solid areas bounce off a sepia and titanium background where a darker central ovoid shape clearly appears. Zones of structured/unstructured rhythms and raw or diluted dough create a sensation of spectacular depth. This canvas with primitive accents in the treatment plunges…
us into a hypnotic space and lights up or darkens differently throughout the day depending on the light. The ovoid form symbolizes the genesis of all terrestrial form, isolated and magnified like an idol. This canvas offers serenity and simplicity.
The work is signed on the back and surrounded by a black cotton strap allowing it to be presented as is.

« Every day, I quietly brush away my balances, my sensitivity, my imagination and I dream of touching the other. This is the life that I have chosen and that has chosen me, forever. »
LABB is a painter and draftsman based in France whose works have been featured in solo and group exhibitions nationally. Her favorite themes pertain to nature, as well as the place of humanity in nature. LABB expresses these topics through the depiction of veins, roots, vines, and entanglements in order to reflect on our ties, hindrances, dependencies, servitudes, and isolations. She primarily creates using oils on canvas.
