About this artwork
This complex drawing is formed by the succession of a multitude of simple, precise and close lines, produced with dexterity with a pen. By pressing down on the nib, it deviates and deposits a drop of ink which causes a break in the line and incites to change the orientation of the drawing or to create a kind of limit in the drawing. In this way, a multitude of interconnected shapes are born, following or deepening each other and creating solids and…
voids.
Here, the lines follow each other parallel and form a sort of macro view of a plant stem or leaf. The drawing is built patiently in a real desire for purity, supported by black and white.

« Every day, I quietly brush away my balances, my sensitivity, my imagination and I dream of touching the other. This is the life that I have chosen and that has chosen me, forever. »
LABB is a painter and draftsman based in France whose works have been featured in solo and group exhibitions nationally. Her favorite themes pertain to nature, as well as the place of humanity in nature. LABB expresses these topics through the depiction of veins, roots, vines, and entanglements in order to reflect on our ties, hindrances, dependencies, servitudes, and isolations. She primarily creates using oils on canvas.
