About this artwork
I sweep one arm widely through the air to draw a line, then bring that trajectory onto the canvas. The line is the result of my intuition and a medium that projects my inner self exactly as it is. Even if the fading of the past trajectory makes me doubt what has already been, the act itself remains, indelible. This simple and direct act proves, more clearly than anything else, that I am here in this very moment.

Lacey Kim is an emerging South Korean artist based in the United States whose paintings have been featured in solo and group shows internationally. Practicing art ever since she was a kid, Kim defined her style in a line-based language exploring layering and color combinations in oil on canvas. Working intuitively, her abstract paintings are characterized by bright colors and gestures full of movement and kinetic rhythm.
