About this artwork
“Light Blue Impulse” is the initial drawing of a new series, “The Quiet Pulse”, a series of drawings where the ink covers the entire paper surface. A single subdued pulse affects the entire plane to gently generate a moving surface. The pulse reverberates beyond the drawing surface to bring into existence an atmosphere of serenity and tenderness.

Lali Torma is an established painter and drafstman born in Romania who has exhibited her work across Germany. Considering her journey as "art by doing" and primarily influenced by North American Abstract Expressionism, she composes pieces centred on interests in color and gesture, and seeks to explore connections to the subconscious. She generates new surfaces through repetitive movements and an intuitive approach. Torma's resulting aesthetic is a multi-dimensional space marked by rich colours and powerful patterns.
