About this artwork
In crafting this oil painting, I focused on capturing the serene majesty of a spiral shell against a contrasting deep blue backdrop. The shell, highlighted in luminous whites and soft blue tones, symbolizes the quiet strength and resilience found in nature. The swirling pattern of the shell invites the viewer into a meditative state, reflecting on the beauty of simplicity and the continuity of life. This piece radiates a calming, introspective energy,…
suited to bring peace into any living space.

« For me, there's no point in making art if it doesn't make my blood pump a little faster. »
Lance Hewison is an award-winning artist based in Germany whose paintings have been exhibited in England and the United States. He cites the human form as being central to his work, especially the expression and drama of the face. Hewison does not convey messages through his compositions. Rather, he places importance on allowing viewers to "enter" into his art, inviting them to create their own narratives.
