About this artwork
This is an improvisation using the 4 colors from the ancient Greek painting palette - red, white, black, yellow. I had planned it to be an abstract painting but it turned into this which reminded me of the recurring Homeric verse of the "wine red seas".

Larry Gomez is an experienced artist from the United States whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. Practicing art ever since childhood, Gomez explores the meaning of being through the use of color in his abstract works. He calls his artistic method "geostracts" because he is influenced by the earth and natural processes that result in rhythmic patterns and gestural movement on the canvas.
