About this artwork
Totem is a piece I have been working on since 2017, reworking it in 2019 and 2020. It has clearly come to a close as it now denotes the passing of a friend of mine who was a Lakota Indian aficionado. So as the title implies the piece has tribal implications.

Larry Graeber, an American painter and sculptor, began exhibiting his works in 1971. Since then, he has continued to exhibit throughout the United States. The concept of convergence (the experience of three or more things occurring or arriving at the same time) remains a cornerstone in his perception. Graeber believes that attention to these incidences can ‘open one up to do so much’. He paints using oils on canvas and his sculptures range in materials, with a preference for wood.
