About this artwork
This painting stems from a childhood memory I cherish. It portrays my cousin during a family trip, a fleeting moment that has always held a certain revelatory quality for me. She has been a luminous presence in my life: vibrant, intense, joyful. A kind of natural muse who never imposes herself, yet fills any space.
Here I try to capture her gaze as I remember it: focused, gentle, almost suspended. I'm interested in that kind of expression, when… the light falls silently on someone and everything seems to stop. Painting seeks that: the intimacy of memory, the transparency of the moment, the contained emotion that remains many years later.
