Este autorretrato parte de una fotografía de mi infancia, tomada una noche de Navidad mientras jugaba con mi padre a hacer fotos experimentales. Tendría unos nueve o diez años y la luz del flash dejaba una expresión entre el susto y la sorpresa. Pinté la escena con una paleta limitada de lilas, azules y amarillos, buscando transformar ese recuerdo doméstico en algo casi irreal. Es una pieza sobre la memoria, la identidad y la forma en que la luz…
puede revelar tanto como distorsionar.
