About this artwork
A regular place where Laura goes for her early morning walk, this area is approximately 10 miles from the centre of Bristol in England called Severn Beach where Britain's longest river, (the Severn) finally meets the Bristol Channel. Not a conventional beach, it plays host of an array of flotsam churned up by the moody tide that overlooks Wales on the other side of the Estuary. A rare glimpse of how industry and nature can be comfortable bedfellows,…
offering a beautiful view as the dawn light gently rises.
Laura plays with these impressions with her use of texture, colour and pattern in a celebration of that feeling of excitement as the dawn gently breaks, and more of the landscape is visible to the eye.
