About this artwork
Early morning on Chesil beach is a wonderful thing. Laura was there last year in mid June when the sea kale and yellow 'horned poppies' are at their most beautiful. She grew up on an unspoilt beach in Southern Ireland, so to visit a beach so different, but so equally beautiful, was a feast for the eyes and emotions. This view is looking towards the reedbeds at Cogden, part of the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, Southern England.

« I try to simplify what I see and allow the paint to guide me in exploring mark making and gestural brushstrokes that convey feeling rather than representational information. »
Laura Cramer is an artist based in the United Kingdom who has exhibited her works in both group and solo exhibitions nationally. She paints subject matter that feels meaningful. Known for her cityscapes, Cramer is now drawn towards landscapes, as they allow her to explore color, abstraction, and design.
