About this artwork
"As a project both lived and imagined, Forest Creatures encompasses drawings, poetry and video works in a seemingly incompatible environment. It emerged naturally during the work. Graphic designer trained in Iași, at a drawing school , Laura Partin feels the need to improve herself, expand her range of artistic mediums and constantly experiment with new ways of creating. In the drawings, the creatures of the forest are a metaphor for transformation…
and suffering. The fear behind the suffering is immortalized in the portraits of innocent little girls, each lost in their own fairy tale world populated by insects, fabulous characters and an apparent hardening of the self. The ecological theme completes the experience and. translates it into a worrying present, in the context of global warming." - Simona Vilău, curator of the exhibition
