About this artwork
This painting was born from an inspiration found in Etruscan art.
During a visit to the Luigi Rovati Foundation in Milan, the artist had the opportunity to enter the reconstruction of the Tomb of the Chariots of Tarquinia (500 BC), an experience that left a profound emotional imprint.
Etruscan art fascinates her for its graphic simplicity, the full, intense colors, and the essential rhythm of the figures.
She was alone and the emotion remained… all to herself, without sharing it, without knowing that one day it would resurface in her work.
Without wanting to reproduce scenes or figures from the ancient frescoes, that experience has settled as a trace of color in the memory.
In this painting, those colors resurface in his pictorial language: circular shapes, full colors and a harmony between the tones, enriched by the luminosity of gold, an element that characterizes his artistic practice.
Unique original, hand painted without the use of masks.
Laura Rota's work moves between depth and lightness, combining intimacy and energy. Her artistic journey, rooted in a connection with art that has accompanied her throughout her family history, experienced a turning point when, as a teenager, she discovered the power of abstraction to convey meanings that go beyond representation.
His abstract-geometric style is based on the harmony between form and color. The circle is central to his work: it represents purity, balance, and emotional resonance. Each work is hand-painted with full, defined colors, without the use of masks, to preserve the authenticity of the gesture. The golden spaces, symbols of energy and light, illuminate the compositions. Modular and rhythmic, his paintings offer visual balance and invite contemplation, and like contemporary mandalas they open spaces where emotions and thoughts can flow freely. Laura loves all seasons but dreams of traveling the world chasing spring.
