The artist made his painting using an old map from the 70s as a support, an authentic map made by man as a study of the territory.
The layout of the map, with its lines, curves, points, follows and brings out the figure, like an interior path made visible by the ethereal lightness of the flesh, through the use of a skilful monochrome.

Laura Serafini is a painter and draftsman based in Italy whose works have been widely exhibited nationally, as well as in Germany, Bulgaria, and Belgium. She cites art as having given her the opportunity to investigate the human being in all its facets and contradictions. Through her compositins, Serafini seeks a balance between the drawing the human form and the representation of its impulses. Her distinctive figurative pieces often incorporate old maps and nautical charts.
