About this artwork

This painting, titled Blue House with Red Door, is a central piece in my exploration of the "Third-Identity"—the psychological and cultural bridge between my Brazilian heritage and my life in the North.
The composition is dominated by a deep, saturated blue house. Anchoring the base is a vivid red "porta" (doorway). This recurring motif is inspired by the colonial architecture of Brazil, serving as a symbolic threshold to a heritage experienced during… childhood summers with my grandparents.
In this work, the red door acts as a focal point of "belonging," a vibrant memory standing firm against the atmospheric, blue-toned environment of the present. It represents the act of "finding lost things"—a childhood nickname given to me by my grandfather—by reconstructing the architectural forms of my past within my artistic practice.
