About this artwork
When I started this painting I just wanted to translate joy, the joy of finding a freedom restricted by months of pandemic. As with all my Abstracts I start with a black background, perhaps to escape the anxiety of the white canvas. Then the layers of acrylic mixed with marble powder which I apply with a very large knife are superimposed , I scratch, I keep the memory of the previous layers. I work in energy, the hand guides the spirit. Reflection…
only occurs in certain moments of pause. I like it when emotions and a very personal interpretation emerge from a painting that everyone can make their own. I think my work is influenced by painters like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Richter, Cy Twombly, Willem de Kooning.. The sides of the painting are painted light beige. The Signature is vertical at the bottom left and on the back of the chassis.

« I wish that my pictures emerge from emotions. »
Laurence Moracchini is a French painter whose works have been widely exhibited nationally, as well as in China, the United States, Spain, the Netherlands, and Germany. Her abstract figurative style allows for greater freedom in creation. Moracchini paints using acrylics mixed with marble powder, producing a matt texture. Her pieces are developed by overlapping layers, through gestures that are fast, energetic, and intuitive.
