Laurence creates this series of abstracts according to the same ritual: start by completely covering the canvas with black gesso. She explains that this phase is a conditioning during which she enters a state of "flow", of hyperconcentration but at the same time of letting go. It is the hand that guides and the painter strives not to take a step back as long as possible to keep the same energy. The painting is developed by strata of colors: coverings,…
erasures, scrapings, repentances... in a kind of dialogue with the work. Then comes the moment of reflection and balance of shapes and colors.

Laurence Moracchini is a French painter whose works have been widely exhibited nationally, as well as in China, the United States, Spain, the Netherlands, and Germany. Her abstract figurative style allows for greater freedom in creation. Moracchini paints using acrylics mixed with marble powder, producing a matt texture. Her pieces are developed by overlapping layers, through gestures that are fast, energetic, and intuitive.
