About this artwork
What is immediately striking in this work are the effects of matter. Marble powder mixed with acrylic and applied with a knife in successive layers gives a thick and very matt material.
The border between figuration and abstraction is fine here and the interpretations can differ ad infinitum, from one spectator to another and this is very good because this is precisely what interests the artist. This is also the reason why she does not give an evocative… title to her works.

Laurence Moracchini is a French painter whose works have been widely exhibited nationally, as well as in China, the United States, Spain, the Netherlands, and Germany. Her abstract figurative style allows for greater freedom in creation. Moracchini paints using acrylics mixed with marble powder, producing a matt texture. Her pieces are developed by overlapping layers, through gestures that are fast, energetic, and intuitive.
