About this artwork
This series is called lumina, Latin for lights or cavities.
It evolved from my take on the Dutch branch of the ZERO movement.
First a grid is applied on a panel, painted matt black.
The grid (cavities) is then filled under a magnifying glass.
I use a dip pen, with gold-inks (lights) I developed.
Then a process of destruction/creation takes place until the work is done.
In the LUMINA-series I want to render the Great in a modest way with timeless… pieces.
I like to think of the compositions as little parts of an infinite cloud.
