About this artwork
In this work, I sought to capture the human essence, mixing charcoal, Indian ink and pastel to create emotional depth. Each chalk line reveals the vulnerability inherent in our being. It is a window into the soul that challenges, seeking to evoke reflection and introspection in the viewer. This piece will add quiet intensity and fragile beauty wherever it resides.
Laurent Bergues is a prize-winning French artist who has exhibited his paintings nationally and in Switzerland. For him, art is an adventure, the outcome of which he never knows until it is completed. Bergues believes that even the smallest aspects of the creative process are at the service of efficiency. His semi-figurative compositions are painted using acrylics, pastels, and graphite on canvas or cardboard.
