About this artwork
As a response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Laurie titled this "Social Distancing" because of how isolated the various shapes are. They are are on their own, but each one feels content, wrapped in its own color and busy with all the little details that life entails. And, there is a very slight hint of connection among them, perhaps through the telephone and other devices.

Laurie DeVault is an experienced artist from the United States whose work has been featured in solo and group shows nationally. Growing up in a family that fostered creativity, DeVault has been passionate about art ever since she was young, inspired by the colorful paintings of Chagall, Kandinsky, and Klee. She creates bright abstract works full of intricate geometries and organic forms, expressing emotions through soft color and texture.
