About this artwork
Take a walk in the city night. Korean cities are full of skyscrapers. A bright daytime city is a refreshing and bright space, and at night it transforms into a fantasy space with colorful and pretty lights. But the city will get worse and worn out over time. When high-rise buildings are nearing the end of their lives, cities can become catastrophic and scare people. This sensibility

« Welcome to my world that is pretty but scary, beautiful but sad, colorful but dark. »
Lee Kyounghwa is an artist based in South Korea whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in France and Italy. Inspired by Eastern mythology and urban life, her vibrant works are a journey into a "mysterious and horrifying fantasy". Kyounghwa calls this space of dreams and reality, 'Heltasia'. Through her art, she endeavors to pursue and express the "enemy image of neo-expressionism".
