About this artwork
In making this work, I expressed the warmth of early autumn and the coldness of the city in contrast.
This work captures the gentle and cozy emotions of early autumn by tearing and pasting hanji dyed in the colors of early autumn. On the other hand, the city’s forest of buildings made by tearing and pasting newspapers and waste paper symbolizes the cold and uniform appearance of the modern city.
Ultimately, ‘Early Autumn City’ is a work that vividly… contrasts the warm and emotional colors of early autumn with the cold and cruel appearance of the city. Through this contrast, I wanted to comfort and heal the busy humans of the city with the beauty of nature
