About this artwork
This work of art created in 2024 by Len Vernaghi proposes some elements of his poetics, starting from the evident naive style and the semi-distortion of the figurative planes and of the subject as well as the objects of the painting. The subject of the painting is a woman sitting on a 'French' chair, immersed in reading a letter. The figure, portrayed with her blue shawl (in harmony with the color of her own eyes), occupies the foreground of the…
work, while in the background we see a lamp that almost resembles a street lamp, this is because for the artist the dimension of the letter abstracts the woman from her reality and transports her outside the domestic environment, like a metaphor. The painting is 70 centimeters high and 50 centimeters wide. The work was not framed and was created with acrylics and tempera on quality professional paper.
