About this artwork
Work of art handcrafted with mixed media (acrylic and oil colors) on jute canvas, mounted on a rigid support (i.e. on a canvas). The blue/light blue outline is a "passepartout", which can also work as a false frame, which makes the color stand out more. The warm and enveloping colors of this painting by Len Vernaghi raise a good mood. The work depicts on the left a couple of people intent on fishing together for a fish that has taken their hook.… Fishing together at sunset. Fishing the sunset. In creating this painting, the artist was inspired by the vibrant energy of nature and its chromatic metamorphoses, using acrylics and oils to capture the shine of the sunset reflected in the lake; while the trees, full of multicolored flowers, dance under the lively sky. This work is a hymn to joy and hope, designed to bring a breath of freshness and optimism to every domestic environment.
Len Vernaghi, originally from Porrentruy but deeply rooted in Italy, is a multidisciplinary person: painter, photographer, designer, textile artist, engraver, sculptor. He stands out for his portable fresco technique, combining traditional pigments with alternative solutions, and uniting contrasting themes and styles. Her works reveal a powerful socio-political commitment, giving voice to frugality, nature, femininity and marginal places, with an atmosphere of wonder derived from her dreamlike subjects.
