About this artwork
"Joy" is a tribute to childhood. It is reminiscent of a sugary chewing gum that smells almost artificially of strawberry and vanilla. You can almost feel the chewing gum on your tongue, its sticky, chewy structure that constantly gives way. 'Joy' conveys a feeling of childlike lightheartedness and mischievous joy.

Germany
Lena Barsnick is an expressionist painter from Munich. With her studio "the sentiment" she processes highly pigmented colors and fluorescent pigments to create large-format, expressive compositions. Her works tingle in the eye and create a deep emotional resonance in the viewer: "My art should touch other people as much as it touches me."
