About this artwork
"Joy" is a tribute to childhood. It is reminiscent of a sugary chewing gum that smells almost artificially of strawberry and vanilla. You can almost feel the chewing gum on your tongue, its sticky, chewy structure that constantly gives way. 'Joy' conveys a feeling of childlike lightheartedness and mischievous joy.
