« My statement is to present sophisticated art in oil. My pictures should have a positive impact on the viewer. »
My artistic journey began when I was 16, when I discovered painting. In 1980, I had my first exhibition and received my first public recognition.
The 1980s were a formative period of learning for me. In addition to self-taught studies, I deepened my knowledge at the Free Academy in Roermond in the art of still life and landscape painting.
I work exclusively with high-quality oil paints on linen stretcher frames, combining wet-on-wet techniques with layering. Inspired by the Impressionists, I do not use black. My subjects are drawn from the natural world around me and from travels abroad.
Attention to detail, whether it's a stinging nettle or a leaf changing color, is important to me. I strive to capture the moods of light and achieve the perfection of my artistic role models.
I invite you to discover my works and experience the stories behind them.
