About this artwork
With this ready-made sculpture, I wanted to challenge the boundaries between everyday objects and pure abstraction. I chose an authentic pewter chalice, a material steeped in tradition and history, to house an explosion of contemporary energy.
The white base, applied with the dense, creamy consistency of oil paint, symbolizes purity and organic matter, while the streaks of blue acrylic represent my stylistic signature: an electric gesture that… bursts into the scene, transforming a playful moment—that of a black cherry ice cream—into a three-dimensional reflection on form and color. The black cherries emerge as points of red light, creating a vibrant contrast that captures the eye.
It is a work that plays with irony and luxury, combining the coldness of metal with the warmth of the pictorial gesture.
