Lia Ferreira
Portugal
« I'm easily impressed by the richness of the human being, and always feel like I can't do enough to constantly convey it to the viewer. »
Lia Ferreira is an established Portuguese painter who has exhibited her work within her home country. Fascinated by the human figure and face, she composes figurative works that depict familiar scenes with curious twists: missing faces, unnatural postures and unexpected details. She uses a base of realism and representational detail to then let her imagination be free and explore the richness of the human experience. Her themes include collective memory, choreography and pop culture icons.
