About this artwork
A series of 3 relief print in limited edition, inspired by the void created by internal courtyards or backyards that are surrounded by buildings. They are printed in limited edition of 2 to 8, depending on the shape. They are printed in the relief technique of a cut matrix, texturized with irregular pock-marks and subtle variation of hand-inking and printed on 300 gsm Fabriano Rosapina paper with an etching press.

Lian Ng is an award-winning painter and printmaker based in the United States whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Switzerland, Japan, Portugal, and the Netherlands. With a background in mathematics and computer sciences, he cites the logic of geometry as having naturally found its way into most of his compositions. In addition, Ng is fascinated by subtle textures that are organic but constrained somehow by a system of progression.
