The starting point of 'Clouds On Fire' originates from a place in the South of France where the painter loves to be. The views there are spectacular and will make you humble for natures gifts.
'Clouds On Fire' is part of the series Daily Dis Appearance which is about threat and finiteness, but also about hope and reassurance. Dark and light.
Letting go of what is no more and allow what is to come. Sometimes it changes with a whisper and other times… the transition comes with a bang.
Just like the daily change from night to day and vice versa. That is one constant in our lives that we can take courage from. No matter how dark the night may be, the sun always returns.
And certainly not short on colour.
This daily spectacle is worth contemplating.
Fortunately, we have a chance to experience this twice a day.

Lies Goemans is an artist based in the Netherlands whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in France, Germany, Denmark, and Peru. In addition, her art has been featured in publications such as Artworld. Principally inspired by nature, Goemans describes her distinctive style as expressive impressionism. She creates intuitively and most often employs acrylics and oils on canvas.
